Beaches of Orissa
Puri
: One of the holiest pilgrimage centers of India. It is gifted with fine beaches. The beach is wide, and ideal for beach sports. But due to the rough sea, water sports are not favored.
Gopalpur-on-Sea
: It is 170 km from Bhubaneswar, and 15 km from Berhampur. The beach is fairly isolated and undisturbed by day-trippers. Gopalpur-on-Sea is good for sailing and surfing.
Chandipur: A divine beach resort of Orissa,
It is located 16 km away from Balasore. A unique beach in which each day the
seawater recedes about 5 km during low tide and advances to the shoreline again
during high tide.
